Increase the DISTRIBUTED_TRANSACTIONS parameter in the initialization parameter file, shut down and restart Oracle, or run fewer transactions. If it is certain there are not too many concurrent distributed transactions, this may be an internal error. In this case, contact customer support. Shutting down and restarting the instance could be a work-around.

Hi, I am not very tech savvy but I need to solve a problem for my customer.

How do I ascertain that there are not too many concurrent distributed transactions? Is there an SQL query I can use?

And wouldn't shutting down Oracle disable the system for quite a while?

Thanks.
