We're trying to do exactly the same thing and have come up with the same results - i.e. when installing Oracle Client 8.1.6 on any machine with Windows 2000 and service pack 8.1.6 the hour glass comes up and then goes away with nothing being brought up, no message, no panel, nothing. Did you ever get this resolved - HOW? THANKS!!!
