Hi,

I have been given a task of specifying storage parameters for Indexes. Can anybody suggest me a checklist that will tell me to specify optimal storage parameters for an Index.

What are the things that I should keep in mind before specifying the storage parameters for an Index.

Pls. this is urgent.

Thanks in Advance.

Milind.

USE LMT ( local managed tablespaces) for indexes (and tables and everything else), use uniform extents. FORGET the storage clauses and other dictionary managed concepts.

Hi Mahesh,

Thanks for your help but the problem is we have been recommended that we will be using DMT in our environment and therefore optimal storage parameters are to be specified for the Indexes.

Pls. suggest me to findout the optimal value for INITIAL EXTENT parameter for the Indexes.

thanks in Advance

Milind.
