Why is there a difference of 8K (8192 bytes) between the value of the LOG_BUFFER in the parameter file and v$paparamter and the value listed when SHOW SGA is executed.
On my server, SHOW SGA lists Redo Buffers 532480 bytes
And v$paprameter and the inistance’s init file 524288 bytes?
I noticed also a difference in the value of the shared_pool_size value between what is in the v$paprameter and the instance init file.

Any light you can shed on this observation can be greatly appreciated.

P.S. If Frank picks this up, I just want to say thanks for the “to further confuse you” note he left me on the initial and next extent question I posted recently.
