hello Friends,
i want to know following info for Oracle 8i.
1) how to create Database from plsql prompt ?
2) what r files generated by a database ?
3) is it possible to create database on Palm Disk ? if yes , how ?

Hi,

1. No, however, you can create a database with SQL commands (not PL/SQL!). Use the DBCA utility to generate a DB creation script.

2. Control files, data files, temp files, etc.

3. Maybe, however, how practical would it be? If you need something on your Palm, consider using Oracle Lite.

I have palm of 1 GB . I want to store my db , control etc files on Palm , how to create sub db ???

Have you heard about 10g R2 XE (10g R2 Express Edition)? Have a look at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/xe/index.html.
