Hello,
I had set up the parameter log_archive_dest and now i want to increase the no. of destinations. So, i changed it as :
log_archive_dest_1="location = localpath/"
log_archive_dest_2="Service=servicename"

If i now try to startup the database, i get the error, log_archive_dest_1 cannot be parsed.

I know that there can be destination either in set of 2 (log_archive_dest and log_archive_duplex_dest) or 10 destinations (log_archive_dest_n)

How do i solve this ?

as per your post
log_archive_dest_1="location = localpath/"

the correct syntax would be
log_archive_dest_1="location = localpath"

without any trailing /

and use single quotes.
NOT double quotes
