Problem:

The error dialog dialog box says:

"TNSLSNR.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
followed buy a request to send the error report to Microsoft.

If you click the link entitled "To see what data this error report contains..." the following is displayed:
"szAppName : TNSLSNR.EXE szAppVer : 0.0.0.0 szModName : orantcp9.dll"
"szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00005732"

Followed by some text about Microsoft not collecting any personal info, and an exhortation to send the report.

Solution:

If the problem in your machine is the above one you can solve it by the following steps.

Try this out: (1)

Update your registry with this variable:
Regedit --> HKey_Local_MachineSoftwareOracleHome0

Create new entry: USE_SHARED_SOCKET=TRUE

Try restarting the System. The problem might have been solved...

If it continues, try this one.

Try this out: (2)

there is one pathch file given by microsoft
WinsockXPFix.exe

u need to apply this one in ur machine
The problem will be solved mostly.

if it is not solved then u need to check your listener.ora file.
