Recently our dba had a problem with Oracle jobs during the October time change.  The jobs did not run for the extra hour.  They skipped over the extra hour and scheduled themselves to run the hour after.  He had to stop and restart the jobs.  Is there a way to overcome this??

Our dba wants to put the server time in GMT on all machines to alleviate this problem.  I think it will cause more problems than it it worth.

I think you should research the issue on metalink.oracle.com Putting the server on GMT shouldn't be required. I've never experienced a problem like that. It may be worth trying to understand how the time change was implemented at the O/S level.
