Hai friends,
we r going to develop a multi user program.
Let me make plateform of our goal.
User want his database operated on Thumb Drive
with excellent speed.
One client Named ABC is placed at 200
feet from server and connected with good quality
datacable.
currently All os are connected by peer to peer with
win98se OS.
All Client system will be configured as P-III 800, 128
MB RAM, 10 GB HDD.
Server will be conf as P-IV 2.4 GHZ, 521 or 256
RAM, 40 or 80 GB HDD .
Now my conf starts
1) should i use oracle 8i database for good speed ??
--[>] IS IT POSSIBLE TO INSTALL ORACLE 8I ON
THUMB DRIVE ????
2) Should i upgrade all os (Client as well server ) to
Win 2000 ???
3) Client Named ABC can have good connectivity
with server ?
4) If v use VB6 or VB.NET as front end , can v
achive best speed for transaction ????
pls help. this is critical for me .
