Hi, I deleted one data file by accident, but this datafile is not important so I want to open the <A class=iAs style="COLOR: darkgreen; BORDER-BOTTOM: darkgreen 1px solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; TEXT-DECORATION: underline" href="http://www.experts-exchange.com/Databases/Oracle/Q_21220451.html#" target=_blank>database[/url] without it, how can I do it? Thanks

Hi, try:

---
SQL>alter database datafile 'path_to_file' offline drop;
Database altered.
SQL>alter database open;
Database altered.
SQL>
---

where 'path_to_file' is the deleted file.
Works well with 9i
