Hi All,
We r in a process to consolidate our applications and databases.
One option that we are looking at is install 9irl2 db, 9iAS (host 9i forms& reports services, 9i Infra) on one solaris server v480 server with 2 CPU and 4GRAM.

We have approx 100 concurrent dedicated connections to our database (SGA size targeted will be approx 1Gb) and approx 60 users who would be using the 9iAS applications.
The server might also host other ERP suites like iBaan which would require approx 1GB RAM.

I want to have opinion if this is a good setup or not? If no then what are the othere good options..? Will just a memory increase solve the purpose??

9IAS is beefy.
Considering that you are going to host all Database, IASDB,9Ias (infra/Devloper services) AND an ERP in a single host....i doubt it.
Again it is compromise in throughput, which you have to comeup with.
Ideally for 9ias infrastrucuture should be a seperate machine, THOUGH NOT A MUST.

No I m not hosting any ERP on the same machine the machine will only have 9iAS, IASDB and a 9i db for data storage.

I understand that a seperate machine is recomended for 9ias Infrastruct (although.. i m not really clear why..only if someone can give some satisfying expalaination for that..)

I was curious about memory ..because I understand that 9i AS needs a lot of memory and douvle the memory usage if 9i infrastructure is also on it.

But as the server V490 is very powerful..i was of opinion that this set should work..but with memory more that 4G..
What is your opinion about it??
