Hi people…!!!
I’m working with Oracle 8.1.7, suddenly we had a blackout and our UPS get down too almost instantly. When we got power again at the moment the database was starting up I got this message:

ORA-01113: file 2 needs media recovery
ORA-01110: data file 2: 'D:ORACLEORADATAorclsystem01.DBF'
Earlier, the database i running in noarchive log mode and till now i havenot taken any backup.

Hi,
If you dont have any valid backup so there is no need to further analyze anything in this case, simply say bye bye to your database. And from nowonwards plan scheduled backups according to the requirement.

maybe you can try to recover datafile, you may be luck and changes required by database are still on your online redolog...
if not....your file is lost, you offline drop and the rest or your db will be available, loosing only contents of file 2.

I have oracle 7.3.4 I have a error, Every rollback segment is full, but I have tablesplace that have two datafile, but the datafile is offline, but when go to online, give a error ORA-01113 FILE 4 NEEDS MEDIA RECOVERY. ORA-01110 DATA FILE 4 DÖRANTDATABASENAMEDATAFILE.ORA.
