Hi,

What is the difference between WE8ISO8859P1 and  WE8ISO8859P1 Nchar char sets.

My db is having WE8ISO8859P1 and i have taken full export of database ei the char set WE8PC850 and dropped the dba and recreated with WE8ISO8859P1  charset .

While importing WE8PC850 charset was used , Means imp,exp happened in same char set but the db charset is different.

Is that creates any problem.

OS : Sun solaris 2.6

Please let me know asap.

Thanks in Advance

Sampath

Best to run "scscan" to see if any characters may have been lostgoing from ISO-1 (WE8ISO8859P1) to WE8PC850. It will scan the datafiles for tables having data which would have a problem. e.g. one or more characters in ISO-1 may get mapped to something like upside down "?", then they won't map back to the original characters when you go back to ISO-1.
