I installed oracle 10G, to my surprise, the oracle home directory keeps gain size, it was 1.2G after installation, now it has grow to 2.0G

I just removed the previous installation which took my whole linux hard drive, taking 92G... now seems it won't take long for this monster regain the whole disc again...

can anyone help me pinpoint the problem??? all installation process was fine....

if apache is installed and used, check whether it is
those concerned logs that is growing.

see if the listener.log/sqlnet.log is growing.

check whether any tracing is enabled.
check all the init.parameters that end with 'dest',
which will write some files in the OS.
specifically,
background_dump_dest
core_dump_dest
user_dump_dest
log_archive_dest
