Hai dudes,

This is Mahesh, a Jr DBA want to install oracle 9i client on windows 2000 adv server and this should connect to oracle 10g server installed on different system and also execute queries on 10g from 9i client. Is this possible.if YES , plz help me to do so.

just install the client. You need to do nothing more.
as usual configure ur tnsnames.ora.

You only need to install Client software.
Setup your Network configuration.
You can do that by editing your
oracle_homenetworkadminTNSNAMES.ORA
Or by runing Oracle Net Configuration Assistant or Net Manager you can find those tools under
Programs/ Oracle9i_home/Configuration and Migration Tools
