HI!

I'd like to know how oracle stores the varchar2 datatype, just 'cause the length is variabile.

When I do a select, the system access rightly to the data or before test a bite-defined that identifies the right length of the data?

Hi,

Oracle stores the length before the string value. But why do you care, as long as it works well and keeps on working well.

Best regards.
