I was going through the read me doc for the patch 3835964, It looks like this patch is for Oracle HTTP aserver.

Suppose if the Oracle HTTP server component is installed but not used, do we need to still apply this patch?

Does any body apply this patch successfully?

In order to apply this patch the sysdba should have ability to connect to the database remotely?
Like connect sys/sys_password@conn_str as sysdba

The Read me document says "either allow rmote connections temporarily or upload the patch to the database machine and follow step2 to patch up the database"

Step2 is

./patch.csh -m sysobjects -o <ORACLE_HOME> -c <conn_str> -p <sys_password>

when i did that , i am still getting "Insufficent Privileages" , So inorder to apply this patch the SYSDBA should have capability to connect remotely ?

Like connect sys/sys_password@conn_str as sysdba

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Rajesh
