Is the next extent, uniform size too big? [message #63012] Wed, 01 September 2004 16:35

Hi Experts,

One of our DBAs created a local mgt tablespace 2004 with autoextend on next 200M uniform size 262144k.

I tried to do a split partition for year 2004 and space kept blew up to 25+ GB.  Compare w/ the yr 2003 (next 16k, no uniform), it only took approx. 400 MB.    What seems to be a problem here?

How should I fix this?  Should I drop the split partition for year 2004, then drop the tablespace of year 2004?

Created a new tablespace 2004 for a smaller extent.  Then re-create the split partitions?

Many thanks!
