take a dump (do export) in solaris db1
use the same lower version of imp tool to do the import into windows db2.
i.e set tns entries to talk to the DB in windows box.

-- do export from solaris Box (9i)
exp dba/user@solaris_Db1 owner=yada file=yadafile.dmp

-- in solaris issue somthing like this:
-- s
imp dba/user@windows_db2 file=yadafile.dmp fromuser=yada touser=blah

---
still error?
post the exact error message.

when i have initially tried to import that on same system other then table/index/partition segments rest of the objects is imported with the following error messages

" DBMS_LOGREP.INSTANTIATE_SCHEMA MUST BE DECLARED"
"INVALID OPTION ENCOUNTERED ORA ERROR 922"
"INVALID OPTION ENCOUNTERED ORA ERROR 901"

i have tried many times but again i am getting same error messages

then i have installed Oracle 10g(10.0.1) on WIN 2000 server
