what's the differnece between analyze & dbms_stats
i mean what the advantages of dbms_Stats over analyze
command

DBMS_STATS package is meant to substitude the ANALYZE command. It's more efficient since you can gather the statistics in PARALLEL. It also gathers more accurate statistics, since you can customize the process.

The ANALYZE command should be obsolete soon ...
