hi

one of our database seems

redolog contention is coming higher when days are going

when the database restarts the contention seems very less.we shutdown the database each week once.but if monday contention seems 10 then thuesday its comes around30 like that if saturday it comes around 150 or how to find a solution

for it i added the parameter value log_buffer to max after increasing it giving eror illegal parmeter error

how to reduce the redolog contention wihtout changing the parmeter value.when restarting db its ok bit confused about it

with regards

ramesh

Hi,

How do you monitor it? Maybe you are looking at a cumulative statistic.

Best regards.

the database will be
offline only once in a week
after taht time the contention is very little
when it reaches weekends it will be higher around
100 to 130.is it a really a problem

Hi,

I don't think this is an issue at all. Some statistics are cumulative; a restart will reset it to 0. However, if you tell us what you are looking at, we would be able to confirm!

Best regards.
