hi.

I am experiencing a peculiar problem in our database. Noticing redo space request wait�we increased the log buffer param to 40M. redo file size is 30M But after that our batch process failed due to ora-00470 error which indicates the failure of LGWR process and instance crashed. The db is in archive mode and on winnt. I could restart without an issue. On setting the Log buffer to old value things are working fine.

Also, there is another DB configure(old db) on a different box which has 60Mlog buffer and 30M as redo logfile with a similar batch process and its works fine. Can�someone throw some light on this?
