Hi All:

Hope i will find a solution for the following typical problem.

I have four 9i instances(On Drive D)�running on my machine and also one 8i instance(on Drive C, release 8.1.5) which have different homes in different drives.

Now the problem is, when i am trying to start the 8i instance, it mounts the database but not opening. I am getting
ORA-00402 : Database changes by release 8.1.0.0.0 cannot be used by release 8.1.0.0.0
ORA-00405: compatibility type "MV81"

Kindly reply me ASAP as it is very urgent for me.

Hi JDV..
Please check ur registry settings for ur Oracle 8i home.
and try to stop all 9i instances and start only 8i instance.
