hello all,

oracle gives randomly session id(sid) to each session. in my development machine, oracle gives 5 difference session with sid : 13,24,26,31,33 of course background process use sid from 1 to 10.

i just want to know how exactly oracle gives session id (sid) to each session ..

if it's randomly, how random it is ? are there number to limit the random session ?

but if it's not, what formula they use to assign sid to someone session.

thank you very much
