when I want to create a table with  partitioning  in oracle 8,

I get this error

ORA-00439  : feature not enabled: Partitioning

what must I do if I want to use partitioning without reinstall oracle.

Run catpart.sql from ?/rdbms/admin directory to enable partitioning.

Are you using Standard edition of oracle? If so standard edition doesn't have partition option.

You may not have installed the 'Partition' option from the Entterprise Edition Oracle....

Use OUI and see what is installed in the server...and if needed, install the 'partition' piece.

Gud luck.
