HI..

I have a problem when i have recover a offline backup..

Message is coming: controlfile is older then datafile sys01.dbf.and I have no backup of older sys01.dbf.

exact senario:

i have taken a offline backup of all controlfile,all redolog files, and only one live datafile in which my application is running,I have not taken a backup of system datafile .

NOw i want to recover a database on date on which i have taken a offline backup.
But database is not recover and message is coming.. controlfile is older than datafile sys01.dbf. and i have no backup of sys01.dbf which can syncronize with controlfile.

so, How can i tackle this situation..
kindly tell me the steps to recover a database..

Hi
if u have backup of all the redolog files, and datafiles then create a new control file using CREATE CONTROLFILE command dont forget to include sys01.xxx also
