Can transactions logs be written to two places simultaneously?
What I'm thinking is that if the main ORL9i server where the first transaction log is written croaks, I have the other box to go to retrieve the transaction logs up until the time of failure & apply those to the rebuilt database.
Thanks,
Robert

Hi,
Are you referring to the Online Redo Log Files, or the Archived Log Files?
Online redo log files - One can multiplex log files across several log members. All members in a group are written to simultaneously. Members should be placed on different disks and disk controllers.
Archived Log Files - One can have up to 10 archive destinations in Oracle 9i. Look at the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1 to LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_10 parameters. Each of these destinations can have different characteristics (archive to the local machine, archive to a remote machine, optional, mandatory, etc).
Best regards.
Frank
