my database oracle initially was in Win NT 4.0 with regional settings for date as dd-mon-yy. But now when i shifted to win2k the regional settings does not remain the same even though i changed it to dd-mon-yy, hence my applications does not take the date format for the database, what is the correct procedure to set the date format in win2k for dd-mon-yy, i do not need to change all date events in my application
thanks
kiran

You can change the NLS_LANG value in the registry or set it up in the user shell:

c:/> set nls_lang=american_america.utf8

for example.

Hope that helps,
