not able to connect to oracle from forms [message #61100]

hi everyone
i have installed oracle 8i and forms 6 on same machine.
os:windows 2000.
when i am connecting from forms , its giving error
as tnsnames error.
even i have copied the tnsnames.ora file from oracleora81networkadmintnsnames.ora to
orantformnet80tnsnames.ora but of no use.

plz let me know what to be done. i will be greatly thankful to u if u reply asap.

Can you connect to your database from other application? From command line execute 'tnsping <db_name>'. if this command not return OK then this seem that problem in your database, not in Forms. Clarify at first with your database and only then copy tnsname.ora.

hi,

i have installed oracle 8i and forms on the same machine at my home. i am able to connect to oracle from sqlplus. but when i am connect from forms
it's giving the error as
ora-12154 .
