hi experts
i just want to transfer specific datafiles from my production database to support server(db) then it should access to client(applcation devleopers to troubleshooting) they have to connect to my database for application troubleshooting and do some modifications .which method i have to use use dblink and jsut export and import and how should client able to connect to the support server for testing and troubleshooting cos they haveve to manipulate real data.connection to support server and client is ok.wheter i ahve resyncronize it or any command s pls provide how to do it cos i am beginer int his field

Sangeetha,
am not too sure if I understood your requirement completely,but if you want to copy specific tables from your production database to the support DB,you can export the tables from your PROD , transfer the dump files say using ftp in binary mode to the Support server and import the tables into your support DB from the dump file.
Alternatively,you can create a database link between these two databases and pull the data from the support DB over the dblink.
there are other methods of synchronising too (like Oracle replication etc), depending on your requirements.

hi sir
i am confusion which i have to use wheter export of dblink which one will be the better choice then how to syncronize the database
my ultimate aim is it should avialble to applcation devlopers for tesing they are on different building we made a dsl connection and the entries in tns and listener are ok.so what's the limitations and advantages of these two methods.
