Hi,

I created a new rollback segment tablespace and added new rollback segments to it, all are public and online.

I took all the other old rollback segments offline also took the tablespace offline.

After this when i started using the system, i was not able to insert data in few tables as they were trying to access the datafile for the old rollback segment which was offline. I resolved the issue by taking it ONLINE but was not able to understand why it was trying to access the Rollback segment tablespace.

I checked the RBS tablespace and it only had the rollback segments and no other extents.

Can anybody help

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Deep

Was the tablespace offlined successfully before shutting down the instance clean ? (ie no pending uncommitted transactions when the instance restarted )
