Hi,
I created a tablespace xx with datafile size 5M with intital 100, next 100,maxextents 1000.
I created a table emp when i try to inserted 50,000 records i m getting following error message.
ERROR: *
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01631: max # extents (20) reached in table GLOB.EMP
But I m able to create another table by inserting 1000 records.
kindly advice

Hi,
Try the following to fix the problem:
alter table GLOB.EMP storage (maxextents 100);
or even...
alter table GLOB.EMP storage (maxextents unlimited);

Hi Frank,
Even after fixing i m getting the same.
SQL> alter table emp storage(maxextents 1000);
Table altered.
SQL> insert into ee2 select * from ee2;
insert into ee2 select * from ee2
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01631: max # extents (20) reached in table GLOB.EE2

Hi,
You need to do the same for all your existing tables and indexes. You can also set the default for new segments on tablespace level:
alter tablespace SYSTEM default storage (maxextents 1000);
