I'm using Oracle 8.1.7 and Win 2K for the server, I wonder how to deleting old record so i still can use the database for new transactions. Plz help me, coz I'm realy a beginner in ORACLE... thx

Hi,
I'm not sure I understand your request. One can have several sessions that simultaneously INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE rows into/from a table.
If you want to clear all rows from a table before inserting new data into it, execute the following DDL statement:
SQL> TRUNCATE TABLE tab1;

Sory if my question is'nt explained enough, what I mean is, what if I want to use the same Database, but I dont want to use the old data (which is inside the database)I want to use the same database, but with new data, ex: old record ends with 1024 records, I want to make it start from beginning ( zero record)..
