Hi All,

I am trying to create a new database and when I run the folowing command I get this error. Can any body help me?

SVRMGR> connect internal
Connected.
SVRMGR> startup nomount pfile = "/apps/oracle/admin/PCONST/pfile/initPCONST.ora"
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel

I have done all env configuration like ORACLE_HOME, BASE, PATH and SID. Also my listener is up and running.

Make sure there are no Oracle processes running or shared memory/semaphores(related to this instance) prior to startup.

ps -ef&#124grep oracle
ipcs -a
