I havent worked with AIX yet, but exports,Selects etc only reads blocks upto HWM(ie used blocks) and not beyond that, while DBV can read the whole file..so maybe ( am not sure) there are pages in the file beyond the HWM that has some errors ?

Thanks for your reply. I have selected table dba_extents and found those pages belong to a table. So I can confirmed that they are within HWM. I have posted this issue to Oracle support, and no findings at the moment. So I suspected that somehow DBV reports wrong things under some situation. Do you rely on DBV to detect corruption? Or any other ways?

Did you cross check with RMAN (ie BACKUP VALIDATE DATABASE )?
If those pages are within HWM, then you should be able to use
exp full=y file=/dev/null
and confirm. There are other ways too , for checking block corruption such as DB_BLOCK_CHECKING,Db_block_checksum,Analyze..
You can turn on these parameter(s) and do a full table scan on that table ...
