Hi All,
I am in process of designing Oracle Server configuration.
Details is as follows:
Database size is around 5 TB, oracle products consist of
Oracle DB Server 9i
Oracle Ware House Builder
4i Discoverer OLAP
Oracle Express OLAP
OSA 11i OLAP
Oracle Enterprise Manager
Oracle 9i As
Storage is SAN.
Number of Transactions 25,000,000 on daily basis hard disk space of 5 GB.
Number of files around 1250 & time required for processing is around 4 hours.
Number of concurrent users on 9i AS are 50.
I would like to know what should be Server Configuration in term of number of CPU's & RAM for following.
1> DB Server Required
2> Oracle 9i AS
3> OEM Server
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Vidyanand

25 Million transactions ! (~290 tps !) for a datawarehousing system.Thats a lot. or did you mean 25M rows in a day ?
DB Server: Get the most powerful you can afford. I know this is not a quantitative answer. It depends on so many factors..
9iAs : you said only 50 concurrent users. thats pretty low. Maybe 2/4 CPU with 2/4 G Ram ..
OEM : just for monitoring/admin ? a Low end server with 1/2 CPU with 2GB Ram may be sufficient.
