we had big tables and it seems that statistics have been running against it. is there any way to find out who or what jobs runs the gather stats on a table. by just querying the DBA_TAB_STATS_HISTORY we can see the tables that have been analyzed but not who or what jobs that runs it.

this is because we need to control when to run analyzed the big tables. and it is almost like the table is being analyzed everyday.

A lot of databases have a nightly maintenance window in which stale statistics are gathered. Check your job schedule?
