Hellow
Problem to Acronis 15 to backup Oracle 12c. Meesage: "No Oracle VSS Writer service is running. No database will be backed up".
Acronis suggests that you reinstall VSS. I've never done anything with VSS. Can you please reinstall VSS oracle? I do not see this option in the installer (for Windows).

VSS Write% SID% service is running. Only Acronis can't see her.
Acronis suggests that you reinstall VSS. I've never done anything with VSS.
Should I do:
oravssw /start ????
or
oravssw ODB /i
My SID : ODB
Uinstall: oravssw {ODB [/d]}
Message: Waiting for VSS events (press Ctrl-C to stop writer)
Install: oravssw {ODB [/i {/user:domain\Administrator /password:mypassword}]}

I cannot speak from experience of your particular problem, but I do know that frequently there are issues with the Windows accounts under which the various services are running. Is your VSS service running under the same account as the DB service? What account is running the Acronis service? Are you using local or domain accounts?

So your VSS service, your Oracle database service, and Acronis are ALL running as domain\Administrator? I have never seen that done before. I would create a new user specifically for running these services. Preferably a local user, and be sure to add him to the various local Oracle groups (all of them) and the Administrators group. If Acronis still (running as that user) still cannot see the VSS, then throw the problem back to them.
I know that domain users are considered better than local users, but often not for Oracle. Some people like to install Oracle under a virtual account, which introduces another set of problems. Are you sure you didn't do that?

Your answers are very brief, you know. I'll try again.
1. When you installed the Oracle home (never mind whom you were logged on to Windows as, it would have to be someone in the local Administrators group) you were prompted to supply a Windows user that would own the home. The current release suggests creating a virtual account. Earlier releases (and still my own choice) default to the local system account. What did you say to that prompt?
2. What account are the services running under? For example, for my orclz instance:C:\Users\john>sc qc oracleserviceorclz

I think this is saying that my suggestion was correct: the problem was incorrect use of Windows accounts.
