Hi All,
I have a database and user on same name unfortunately with power fluctuation Server shut downs abnormally now server starts normal but DB is not working. Oracle is connecting with sysdba user but not with ordinaty user and its schema it gives a message database is shutting down.. kindly guide me to resolve the issue..

1/ Check the Oracle service is on
2a/ If not then start it
2b/ If started, connect, with SQL*Plus, as sysdba and execute "startup", post the result of the command

I have a latest backup of that userand its schema if i restore it will the problem be resolved?

I restored backup still gives the same error
