Hi,

I have a eBS system with R12.1.3 + 19c (19.Cool DB (different server)
We need to upgrade eBS to R12.2 (12.2.9)
In the eBS upgrade guide, it looks like the rapidwiz will do the installation of a new OH and DB in 12c (12.1).
I'm unclear about the process. A few questions:
1) It will create a new DB
2) Do I need to run first the "rapidwiz" on DB node?
3) If ran the "rapidwiz" only on APP node, it will try to connect to my existing 19c database?

Can you please provide some guidance?

This is a huge upgrade, you know. Not just the tech stack changes (Weblogic! At last!!) but also on the functional side. Are you sure that you want to do it yourself? A decent EBS implementation consultancy would put several people on the job for several weeks. That will be expensive (though not as expensive as if you asked Oracle Consulting to do it Smile ). Seriously, you need to know what you are doing with a job like this.

As for your specific questions, if your DB is already 19c there is no need to do anything to it. When you lay down the new apps tier filesystem, it will connect.
