Like many people, I though this announcement was great:
https://blogs.oracle.com/oda/data-guard-integration
not least because it says you can use it whenQuote:
Migrating from an older to a newer generation ODA system
but the docs
https://docs.oracle.com/en/engineered-systems/oracle-database-appliance/19.8/cmtxn/disaster-management-and-recovery-oracle-database-a ppliance1.html#GUID-A3FB3464-7D41-4A57-B264-F5A0A8AF2DD6

The primary and standby systems must be the same Oracle Database Appliance release, and must be on Oracle Database Appliance release 19.8 or later.
however, there are many documentation bugs in ODA so we had a go anyway. It doesn't work. I don't think we even got as far as the point where version differences could matter. So we shall end up doing the whole process manually. Again. It takes forever, and it ain't easy.

Googling around, I've found a couple of articles where people have done it using this new method, but I suspect that has been only on perfect lab systems with straight out of the box configuration. Has anyone made this work on a production system?

Thank you for any insight.
