How to find the installed oracle is Enterprise Edition or Client version
before connecting to database.

Raj,

Never heard about Client edition. There are enterprise edition and standard edition.

When you login to SQL plus you can see if it is enterprise edition and standard edition.

Connected to:
Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.3.0 - Production
With the Partitioning option
JServer Release 8.1.7.3.0 - Production
