what is exact use or advantage of indexes when it will be used frequently pls clarify

The advantage of indexes is: PERFORMANCE. It can seriously lower the response times of an application. There are several types of indexes but if you search the Oracle online documentation (at tahiti.oracle.com) you'll find tons of information.
