Can someone explain why do we duplicate a database on same server or to the other server.

Uh, because you need a duplicate copy of the database on the same server or the other server?

If your question is "why do we duplicate a database", the answer is "because you need a duplicate database for some reason"

If your question is really "how to choose between creating the duplicate on the same server as the original, or on another server", the answer is mostly driven by why you need a duplicate in the first place. I will say that it can be somewhat dangerous to create a duplicate on the same server as the original. If you aren't careful, you can end up overwriting the original with the duplicate, and possibly rendering unusable in the process.

Now, perhaps you can explain your question better.
