Hi

In our databases outside AWS/RDS, we create oracle to progress DB-link using ODBC drivers, involving many ssh operations that are prohibited on AWS/RDS.

Please inform is there any way we can achieve the same on AWS/RDS environment.

Or is there any alternative available on AWS/DRS that can serve the same purpose? it will be highly appreciated if you share the relevant documentation as well.

I did something like this just the other day:

Spin up an EC2 instance, a t3a.small (or even a t3a.micro) will do.
Install the Oracle Gateways on it, you don't need a licence if you are using only ODBC.
Configure the HS listener and all the rest there.
In your RDS instance, create the DB link pointing to the HS listener.

You want me to use EC2 instance for Postgres?
Can't it be possible with both Oracle and Postgres on RDS?

I had thought that my post was crystal clear. Apparently not. You install the Gateway on an ec2. Nothing else. Is that clear enough?
