Hi,
Could you please help me?
I have installed ORACLE 9i in my server and re-started instance after successful installation. After startup of the database the following error appears.
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
The more details are:
SQL> STARTUP;
ORACLE instance started.
Total System Global Area 1074864892 bytes
Fixed Size 455420 bytes
Variable Size 402653184 bytes
Database Buffers 671088640 bytes
Redo Buffers 667648 bytes
Database mounted.
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
Can any one tell what's wrong with my installation.
Thanks,
Gulab.

Can you give the exact version/OS and whether you did an upgrade or a clean install from scratch?
In case you did an upgrade:
Do you have a an Ora-01001 (invalid cursor) somewhere in the alert file?
If so, run catalog.sql and catproc.sql (as user SYS of course).
It is a known issue. The data dictionary isn't upgraded sufficiently, i.e. some objects are missing for 9i. They weren't present in previous versions which can explain the error you're getting.
