Not able to connect with database from forms 6i but from forms 11g its connecting [message #676851]

Hi,

After Installing forms 11g on my system i tried to connect database form forms 11g its working, but when i tried to connect form forms 6i i am not able connect to db.
i got "Tns could not Resolve records".

Note: before installing i am working from forms 6i, moreover i used the same TNS to connect the database form forms 11g.

Dear Cookiemonster,

Oracle Database 10g. It's installed on different server. I just tried in my local system. till date our client is using forms 6i base application.
so, i just installed Weblogic and Forms 11g on my local System, then i am using same TNS which is on forms6i location. then i connected from forms11g to database its working.
when i tried to connecting from 6i to database i am getting "the TNS could not be resolved".

Note : i need to use both application, because i want to convert the some forms from 6i to Forms11g.

Are you saying that:
(a) forms 6 could connect to the database, and
(b) forms 11 can connect to the database, but
(c) forms 6 can no longer connect to the database?

Dear John Watson,

Yes, correct. but, i found the solution. i want to create environment variable. TNS_ADMIN specify the path to access the tnsnames.ora
