Snapshot standby works no problem. But:
I have been asked by a client if a snapshot standby really can be run for an extended period (several weeks) and then revert to a physical standby. I've never done it for that long, only for a few days. Theoretically, as long as the redo is available there will be no problem. However, I did speak to someone (I no longer have his contact details) who told me that it didn't work after a week or so. That was release 11.something
Has anyone used a snapshot for a long time? With or without problems?
