FRM-10043: Cannot open file. And how to open a corrupt fmb file ? [message #671908]

Dear friends,

I was working on my fmb file, suddenly, there was a crash and windows had to reboot. I tried to open my FMB and got this error.... what should I do Sad

?

In case my fmb is corrupt, cannot be fixed, and I have to start from scratch Sad

, how could I open it to view the code ?

See if you can open it in a higher version of forms. That worked for me once, many years ago. Or something that I know worked for a fact, I ran a unix/linux frmcmp.sh with compile_all=yes, and it somehow magically fixed the .fmb file for me.

Yikes...still? And no modern version of Forms or running on a real O/S like unix or linux?

Heck, we used forms 6i well after it's death, but that is because some people felt more comfortable in a client/server development environment, but we would just convert them to 11g or 12c and compile them in that version for running the application. Yeah, those developers would not be able to take advantage of the new features, but stubborn people have to live with those consequences.

Please note that Forms 6i will not operate against a database with the modern character sets like AL32UTF8, so you're going to have to move off it eventually or be stuck in unsupported versions of the database too.

We are migrated to 12c and when I am opening the form even in 11gR2 forms on client. Server is not able to open or compile this form.
I tried to open the form even in 12.1.4 forms version of windows. Still the same issue.

Forms is modified using 11gR2 WIndows Form Builder.
