Hi,
I have 9201 database and i would like to upgrade this to version 9203. I have download the patch from oracle site. Now i want to know, how to apply the patch? I mean from oracle installer.

NOTE: To install patch 3.0 (for 9.2.0.3.0), you need to install the Oracle Universale Installer (OUI) 2.2.0.18. The base install of 9.2.0.1.0 installs OUI 2.2.0.12, which CANNOT be used to install patch 3.0.
Here is what you need to do:
1. do a complete backup ( just to be in the safer side)
take a backup of oracle binaries also (cold backup).
2. shutdown the database.
3a. Install OUI 2.2.0.18
3b. install the patchset through installer.

I had no trouble installing the 203 patch or the Oracle product HTMLDB. However, I receive an ORA-492
error on both boxes that have 203 update. Both boxes work fine otherwise. Any ideas? The 492 error indicates I am running a lower version of export than the database. However, when I run export from the command prompt the messages indicate this is a 9.2.0.3 version export utility.
